Fred began developing his interest and abilities in fine art at Seattle Pacific University where he completed a B.A. degree in Media Arts / Education.
Over the course of a 20-year career he specialized in photography and digital media—primarily in a corporate setting. In the last 10 years his art emphasis has transitioned from old masters traditional oils to an impressionistic style using heavy-body acrylic media and glazing techniques.
Subject matter includes vintage American pastoral landscapes, Italian / Euro architecture, and photo-impressionistic scenes. His technique seeks to engage the viewer’s idealistic notions of familiar places and memories while amplifying the emotional response through rich color values.
Fred is also very adaptable with commissioned art projects given his formal digital media training and ability to use digital image technology in building an artist’s portfolio as well as communicating a client’s concept for an art project.
He also has been a contributing artist to the Seattle-Eastside Public Arts Program; is a member of Eastside Association of Fine Arts and participates as a working artist with NW Artists in Action.
